Re-understanding on Slogan of ' back to the Qur'an and Sunna '

By. Mustofa Faqih.*

A slogan of "back to the Qur'an and Sunna", according to me, isn't referenced always and funded of the religious problems, but also of political situations. It happened when the slogan of "back to the Qur'an and Sunna" was handled by sultan. When the spread of the slogan was reach and handled by the police, so the existence of it was powered and supported fully by the local political situation.

The powering and strength of sultan can't forgotten well of why the slogan of "back to the Qur'an and Sunna" existed on the last time ago. That is why the source of the slogan of it isn't only tolled by religious problems. Plenty factors why the slogan was very urgent on last age.

The problem is how the existence of the slogan can fully stay at Indonesia?. One of many problems can't forget of Indonesia country is that Indonesia is the multicultural nation. It many religions stay on it. Not only it, many cultures, languages, traditions, and also something related, quality and quantity develop deeply.

It means that the slogan of it, according to me, can't spread on Indonesia without re-interpretation on this slogan. One of the problems from it is when this slogan directly understood without making reinterpretation, so many Muslims assumed that the truth or rightness is only one. The situation of that, therefore, can be able the spirit of Islam become a negative basic religion.

So, the slogan of "back to the Qur'an and Sunna" in order can be understood, is have to be read by reinterpretation. Whatever the reason on it, Qur'an and Sunna are the Islamic source related with the people, culture, language, and also social situation. By re-understanding the culture, language, economic and also social situation of where Qur'an found, the slogan of it can be easy and comfortable understood at Indonesia community.
